In May 2023, Life Skills Centers was awarded $10,000 in grant funding provided by the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Fund for Caregivers at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan to support our Caregiver Wellness Support Program provided in St. Clair County. With this funding, Life Skills Centers will be able to provide our monthly caregiver wellness program free of charge to anyone who wishes to attend.
The Caregiver Wellness Program is provided the third Thursday of every month, at 10:30 AM and is held at the St Clair County Main Library at 210 McMorran Boulevard, in Port Huron. We seek to provide caregivers with the resources and support they need in order to do their best in their role as a caregiver – as well as provide them with a network of peers who understand and relate to their experiences. Previous Caregiver Wellness Programs have been well received by those who attended, and we are looking forward to continuing this valuable program for the community.
The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan is a full-service philanthropic organization leading the way to positive change in our region. As a permanent community endowment built by gifts from thousands of individuals and organizations, the Foundation supports a wide variety of activities benefiting education, arts and culture, health, human services, community development and civic affairs in the seven counties of southeast Michigan. The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Legacy Funds at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan honor Mr. Wilson’s charitable legacy by supporting efforts across the region in caregiving, design & access, and youth sports, as well as for community assets in Mr. Wilson’s home community of Grosse Pointe.
